Senior CI/CD Engineer, Core Infrastructure

Adyen is looking for a Senior CI/CD Engineer for the Core Infrastructure team in Chicago. In this position, you will work on a world-class platform that enables developers to grow Adyen's business. Our platform is a distributed system with high performance and strict security requirements. Your primary responsibilities are to develop and maintain CI/CD solutions in a complex environment. You will create, refactor, and extend the components of our bespoke CI system. You will create the glue that binds code and infrastructure. Together as a team, we are providing CI/CD “as-a-service” to the entire organization.

Who you are

You have a solid Linux background with broad systems experience. You have built containers and Linux packages. You are well-versed in the Software Development Lifecycle and are proficient in git. You love automating processes and evangelizing CI/CD practices to the rest of the organization. Creating pipelines for GitLab CI and Jenkins is your bread and butter. You prefer a programmatic approach using Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code. You are a team player that is open to feedback and able to work in a 24/7 environment. You diagnose issues and make quick, informed decisions while under pressure. You have strong communication skills and love collaborating with your teammates.

Skills

You have experience with some of the below mentioned technologies and concepts, and are willing to learn the others:

• Jenkins and GitLab pipelines
• Containerization (Hashicorp ecosystem and Kubernetes)
• Artifact and code storage solutions
• Linux, Apache, Tomcat, firewalls, network security protocols, databases, UNIX-related network services, TCP/IP networking, DNS, HTTP(s)
• System configuration and administration, load balancing, scaling, monitoring, understanding of Linux kernel primitives (namespaces, cap, cgroups, etc.), core operating systems including network setup and maintenance, network security, and distributed file systems
• Ability to code in at least one programming language and familiarity with bash scripting
