Job Description

As an Application Engineer (Automation/Quality), you will analyze, design, and deploy test automation capabilities and automated test suites.  You will be part of a team responsible for regression test suites for Discover Bank’s award-winning deposit products.  We are currently partially automated but are working towards total test automation in integration pipelines and empowering development teams to own the quality of their apps.

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute test strategy and test cases/suites
• Ensure the content and structure of all testing documents/artifacts are documented and maintained
• Adapt test plans and compensate as needed to adjust to evolving conditions
• Ensure integrity of automated test suites and enhance as needed
• Promote a 'shift-left' approach to testing, enabling teams with automation capabilities
• Achieve team commitments (and influence others to do the same) by using informal leadership and highly developed communication skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelors – Computer Science or related

• 3+ Years – Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or related

• Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scale

​Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks - Selenium, Squish, UFT, Cucumber, Rest Assured/Karate (API), Gherkin, Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
• Hands-on experience with a object oriented programming languages but Java is preferred
• Hands-on experience in writing Oracle/SQL queries for test data automation
• Experience in building and maintaining data driven test automation frameworks
• Able to research and analyze open-source libraries and provide solutions for test automation challenges
• Experience with test and user story management tools - JIRA and HP ALM
• Expert in working with Jenkins and GitHub
• Experience in usability and batch testing
• Any experience with Service Virtualization - Wire Mock / Hoverfly is a huge plus.
