As a Front-end Development intern your main role will be to prototype and implement user interfaces for our mobile and cloud systems as part of a team of Software Engineers. This will involve creating front-ends for Android & iOS apps, websites, and both mobile and desktop webapps. You will need to have an eye for design to translate designs into pixel perfect implementations.
You will be working closely with design, research, and engineering team members; advising and collaborating to create industry leading solutions involving bleeding-edge prototype technologies which will give opportunity for travelling worldwide to see how your solutions are improving the experiences of our users.
As a full member of the front-end development team, you will have the opportunity to create front-ends for a large variety of solutions spanning multiple different industries. We primarily work with Flutter and React, although there may be opportunities to work with Angular, Bootstrap, WebComponents, Android/Java/Kotlin and more. Thorough training will be provided to bring you up to speed in the technologies we use, no prior experience is necessary but if you do have experience with any front-end technologies this will be beneficial.
Responsibilities
As part of a team of Front-end Developers
  • Work, advise, and collaborate with UX Designers to produce elegant and innovative front-end user interfaces in the latest front-end technologies
  • Prototype new ways to interact with bleeding edge mobile and virtual technologies
  • Fulfil several project requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
  • Interact with teams across the whole of Zebra to spread the message of good User Experiences
  • Take part in team brainstorms to discover new and innovative product ideas

Qualifications
  • Current University student studying for an Undergraduate Degree
  • Interest in frontend development (i.e. Android UI, client-side web apps/sites)
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a team to accomplish goals
  • Demonstrates a willingness and aptitude for learning
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively with others.
